This movie was better than it had any right to be. Though this movie was a kids movie, it was still entertaining for adults. I liked all the kid actors, and thought that lots of the dialogue was pretty funny. If you are looking for a light hearted, slightly better than average movie, this is a good redbox option.
I did enjoy Big Eyes quite a bit. It was a little slow, and it also had that Tim Burton feel to a few parts that I don't love very much. However, for the most part, you would never have been able to tell it was done by Tim Burton, and it was quite entertaining. It tells an interesting story about the female artist whose husband took credit for her paintings. Christoph Waltz does especially well at acting in this movie, and is creepy just like he is in everything else. There are parts of the movie that are certainly fictional, and others that are even silly. However, overall, I would recommend this movie, and thought it was worth a rent.
The Imitation Game
The Imitation Game is a movie about a famous code breaker named Alan Turing during world war 2. It was a well done movie with spectacular acting. The circumstances of the movie and the history it is based on is very interesting. Benedict Cumberbatch was nominated for an academy award for his role in the movie. The movie has a good pace, has great music, great acting, an awesome screen play, and teaches you about an interesting part of world war 2 you may not have known about. Definitely worth renting.
The Theory of Everything
This was a very well done movie. Eddie Redmayne does an incredible job portraying Stephen Hawking, and even won the oscar for Best Actor in 2015 for his portrayal. The movie is a little slow, and slightly depressing. The message is meant to create feelings of hope and love, but that does not take away from the central theme of ALS. I wish the movie was a little more centered on the actual theories Stephen Hawking created, but that is just me. If you are looking for a really well done, really interesting, and amazingly acted movie, this could be a good one for you to rent.
